Low-cost business model in air-transportation field has swiftly spread around the Globe, and created new markets and target groups. It proved to be highly competitive in relation to traditional air-carriers, by providing better prices and ability to travel more frequently. However, in many countries, such as Russia, such kind of companies is not yet on the market. The aim of this work is to evaluate current situation on the air-transportation market in North-west region of Russia and to analyze the future of Lappeenranta Airport on it.
