Globalization, Development and Integration offers European political economy perspectives on globalization. It looks at general characteristics of globalization, such as asymmetries in how globalization manifests itself in daily life and its effects on poverty and inequality throughout the world. For example, the book examines the problems experienced by developing countries, it studies what the appropriate macroeconomic policies are to deal with globalization, and also how international labour markets work in a globalized economy. Finally the book examines how Europe has responded to globalization: might there be a 'European model' to deal with challenges of globalization? Can such a 'European model' survive in an increasingly globalized economy?
