The Korean peninsula is one of the most heavily militarized regions in the world. A significant factor in the long-term conflict between North and South is the presence of nearly 30,000 U.S. soldiers in the area. This book explores the social frictions that U.S. bases have caused in South Korea, where the entertainment districts next to American installations have come under much scrutiny over the last few decades.
