Anotace knihy

The protagonist, Matt (Zee) Worth, a former peace officer, now works as an itinerant part time professor of criminal justice at several colleges located in the San Francisco Bay area. He also works as a private investigator, whenever the mood strikes him, the money is good, and the case is intriguing. In this third novel of the series, a summer night class he is teaching blows up in his face when a female student accuses him of sexual assault. He is relieved of his teaching duties, and within days the girl is murdered, his girlfriend, Samantha, goes missing, and his ex-wife, Libby, moves back with him until she can find a job and affordable living arrangements. He becomes a person of interest in the murder investigation, so he tries to help the local campus police solve the murder. At the same time, he is tries to solve the disappearance of his girlfriend. His ex-wife offers to help him find her. They are soon confronted by an old nemesis from his last investigation, Ali-El-Kohbar. As always, Matt is aided in his investigation by the research and snooping of Hatfield P. Gowdy, Matt's life-long friend, mentor, and social commentator.
