Eleven sections. Zero lectures.
Adulthood does not come with a tutorial. This is the closest thing.
The Missing Curriculum, Volume One: Growing Up Ready is a practical guide to the parts of growing up that classrooms skip: how to manage anxiety and low mood, handle conflict and peer pressure, recognize bullying, navigate digital life and AI, spot manipulation and bad deals, speak in public, build habits that stick, and respond in a real emergency.
Written for readers aged 13 to 20 (and useful well beyond), this is a stand-alone reading book, not a textbook, with no exercises, no homework, and no tests. Each of the eleven sections opens with a real situation a teenager actually faces, breaks down what is happening and why, and closes with a Field Card: ten rules worth keeping for life.
What's inside:
Every section is built from primary sources, including the World Health Organization, UNESCO, UNICEF, the International Labour Organization, and the OECD, translated into plain language a teenager will actually read.
Written by George Wehbeh, a former HR and general management executive who spent thirty years designing corporate training and has worked in youth development with UNICEF. He wrote it first for his own children.
The companion volume: Volume Two, World Ready, covers the other half: money, contracts, consumer rights, personal safety, vehicles and practical skills, work, and university life. Available separately or as a set.
