Anotace knihy

The Coachability Framework is written for professional coaches and for leaders who use coaching as part of how they develop people. It addresses one of the most important questions in coaching: not simply whether a person is coachable, but what kind of coaching will serve this person best right now.

Born from the author's professional coaching practice, corporate experience, and formal study of psychology, this book translates established psychological science into a practical framework for everyday coaching decisions. It draws on developmental psychology, motivation theory, emotional regulation, behavioural change, psychological safety, and relational practice, giving coaches a way to work from established science without having to study every underlying theory in depth.
Every coachee is different. Your coaching should not be the same for all of them.

At its heart is a clear model of coachability built around:
• nine psychological capacities
• two contextual moderators
• five coaching stances

Together, these help practitioners understand a coachee's readiness, identify what may be supporting or limiting progress, and calibrate their approach to the person in front of them.

For professional coaches, this book offers a more precise way to decide when to challenge, when to structure, when to support, when to slow down, and when coaching may not be the right intervention.

For leaders who coach, it offers a disciplined lens for developing people with greater care, clarity, and effectiveness.

This is a book for practitioners who want their coaching to be more than well-intentioned. It is for those who want their practice to rest on established science, ethical judgement, and a deeper understanding of how people actually change.

If your work is to help people grow, this book will help you meet them where they truly are.

While coachability is often treated as important, the literature around it remains comparatively limited, fragmented, and heavily centred on feedback receptivity. This book helps fill that gap by offering a broader, psychologically grounded model that coaches and leaders can apply in real coaching conversations.
