Concern has arisen regarding the environmental impact caused by some of nanomaterials, as well as their possible toxicity to cells. A new generation of eco-friendly nanomaterials has been developed in response to these concerns. Green synthesis of nanoparticles shows how environmentally friendly nanoparticles can be synthesized from different biological sources, such as microbes, fungi, algae, and plants. Nanoparticle synthesis, using biological sources, is characterized by processes that take place at near-ambient temperature and with a neutral pH.
