Pythagoras said, "Know yourself and you will know the universe and God. This phrase made sense to me when, today, in a yoga class, the teacher suggested that we make a pranayama, through breathing, to clean the chakras.For those who don't know chakra, it is a word in Sanskrit. It means wheel. A chakra is a vortex of energy that rotates in circular motion within the body, on a vibratory level. They are spread vertically from the top of the head to the end of the dorsal spine. They are divided into thousands, but the basic chakras are seven.The chakra also functions as the gateway to elevate levels of consciousness: each chakra activation will bring the individual new knowledge and increase his level of consciousness.The importance of having them aligned and balanced is the guarantee of a happier, healthier life in harmony with you. When a chakra is unbalanced, it can affect the organ or gland related to it and generate emotional, mental and physical imbalances.The order of the chakras goes from bottom to top and starts at the beginning of the column, with the color red. It passes through the colors orange, yellow, green, blue and indigo, until it reaches the top of the head, with the color violet. Each of the colors represents the vibratory frequency of each chakra and also corresponds to the exact colors of the rainbow.The first is called the basic chakra, or Muladhara. It corresponds to the color red, is at the base of the column, is related to the adrenal gland and concerns survival, our connection with the planet Earth, the material world, vitality, security and belonging.The second is the umbilical chakra, or Swadhistana. It is located above the genitals. Its color is orange, and it is related to the reproductive organs, bladder, lower abdomen and vesicles. This chakra represents our enthusiasm, joy of life, sexuality, creativity, contact with the unconscious.The third chakra is the solar plexus, or Manipura. Located two fingers above the navel, this yellow chakra can be represented by the phrase "I can" or "I do". It represents the digestive partThe fourth chakra is called the cardiac, or Anahata. Located in the center of the chest and green in color, it is connected to the thymus gland and can be symbolized with the phrase "I love". The fifth chakra is the laryngeal, or Vishuddhi. It is located in the throat, has a light blue color and is related to the thyroid gland. Its phrase: "I express myself". The sixth chakra is called the frontal, third eye or Ajna. It is located between the eyebrows, has an indigo blue color, is related to the pituitary gland and the phrase "I see/understand". It is linked to our intuition and responsible for the improvement of our inner vision, understanding and understanding of the issues. It also responds for the reasoning, learning capacity, observation, understanding and security in decisions. The seventh chakra is called the coronary, or Sahasrara. It is located on top of the head, has a violet color, represents the pineal gland and the phrase "I am". It is the connection with the divine, our higher self. It relates to the purpose of our soul, to our connection with all that is oneness, peace of spirit, unconditional love. Its development is done in silence and meditation.
