Anotace knihy

The texts in this series for beginning readers have a strong phonics base and can be used at any age, from kindergarten to adult learners. Each book includes: simple words that "work" by being sounded out; games and other activities; key words needed for literacy; methods for teaching reading; teachers' notes on how each page can best be used; and help when needed when learning to read. In Book 4, activity sheets for beginning readers should help them learn and use: a range of special sounds, such as 'igh', 'er', 'ur', 'ou, 'ow', 'or', 'aw' and 'ph' in words presented in 'sound families'; common silent letters, such as 'k' in 'know'; the soft 'c' (s) and the soft 'g' (j) in common words; 'sound-alike' words in the writing of sentences; plurals and the shortened forms of words; adjectives and adverbs in making their own sentences. It also includes sets of words for spelling tests and an assessment test which, while remaining the copyright of June Mitchelmore, may be copied for use in your home or school.
