Maternity-wear is a functional garment designed to address the anatomical growth during pregnancy. Market for maternity wear is well established in developed world and is growing rapidly in developing countries like India. One of the key limitations which affects the attractiveness of this segment and thereby its market growth is low return on investment for consumers on these garments due to their shorter serviceable life, as they are designed for use only during the pregnancy. This book explores the possibility of making the fit and style innovations in maternity-wear such that they remain serviceable during pre , post and during pregnancy periods. The book documents the research and garment specifications and designs. The designs and concept can be extended to plus size clothing and clothing for women with fluctuating weight problem.
