The war between Prussia and Austria had just ended. That's when Ludmilla's life begins with one failiure after another. The title of nobility is gone. The mother dies shortly after her birth. Her father sent her across the border as a child to smuggle silver and her stepmother makes life difficult for her and her brothers.
