This book explores working and learning practices inthe context of safety within the Civil ConstructionIndustry of Western Australia andspecifically focuses on the relations betweenorganisational safety values and current workingpractices, primarily focusing on the instrumentalpower of managers in organisations to produce safety.The book examines the values in action that permeatethe workplace culture and mediate the dailypractices of people working in this industry, andultimately how they impact upon the minds and bodiesof employees.
