Anotace knihy

Chapter 1: The Woman Who Hated Mornings

Everyone in the office knew Clara Bennett had two rules: never speak to her before coffee, and never touch her desk. She was beautiful, intelligent, impeccably dressed, and permanently annoyed. Then Daniel Reed arrived. On his first morning, he accidentally took her chair. "You're sitting in my seat," Clara said. Daniel looked around. "There are twenty-seven chairs." "That one is mine."

Chapter 2: The Irritating Man

Daniel became Clara's new project partner. Every meeting became a battlefield. "Your idea is terrible," Clara said. "Thank you." "That wasn't a compliment." "I know. But you said more words to me today." She glared. He laughed. Their arguments became office entertainment. Nobody understood why Clara complained about Daniel constantly while somehow knowing everything about him.

Chapter 3: Rain Between Them

One evening, heavy rain trapped them outside the office. Daniel opened his umbrella. "Come under." "I can manage." "You've been standing there for ten minutes." "I enjoy rain." "You enjoy complaining about rain."

Chapter 4: The Secret Smile

Daniel discovered Clara had a secret. She smiled when she thought nobody was watching. She smiled at children. At stray dogs. At old songs. And once, at him. He caught it. "You smiled." "I did not." "You absolutely did." "Prove it." "You looked happy."

Chapter 5: The Almost Kiss

Their project succeeded spectacularly. The company celebrated. Clara and Daniel stayed late to finish the final presentation. When the clock struck midnight, Daniel handed her champagne. "To us." "To surviving you." They laughed. Silence followed. He moved closer. She didn't step away. Their faces were inches apart. Then Clara's phone rang. She answered immediately.

Chapter 6: Jealousy Has Sharp Teeth

The next week, Clara saw Daniel talking closely with another woman. She became unbearable. "You seem happy," she said coldly. "I am." "Good." "Why are you angry?" "I'm not angry." "You've reorganized the entire meeting room because I spoke to her."

Chapter 7: The Truth Hurts

Daniel finally confessed. "I like you." Clara froze. "You can't." "Why?" "Because people leave." Her voice cracked. Daniel understood that her anger was armor. "I'm not asking you to trust me overnight." "Then what are you asking?" "One chance." She looked at him. "I don't know how to love someone without being afraid." "Then be afraid with me." Her eyes filled with tears. For once, Clara had no sarcastic answer.

Chapter 8: The Wrong Choice

Just when they began getting closer, Daniel received an offer in another city. He accepted it. He thought leaving before things became serious would protect them both. Clara heard the news from someone else. Her heart broke. She confronted him. "You didn't even tell me." "I thought it was better." "For whom?" He had no answer. She walked away.

Chapter 9: Don't Let Me Go

Daniel found Clara at the railway station. "Clara!" She turned. "What are you doing here?" "Making the worst decision of my life." She stared at him. "I was afraid," he said. "But losing you scared me more." "You already left." "I know." He stepped closer. "I don't want a perfect woman.

Chapter 10: The Pretty Grumpy Lady

Months later, Clara still complained. She complained about Daniel's messy apartment. His terrible cooking. His habit of singing badly in the shower. But now she complained while wearing his sweatshirt.

Chapter 11: Happily, Grumpily Ever After

Years later, Daniel still remembered the first day. The chair. The glare. The woman who seemed determined to dislike him. Clara sat beside him on their balcony, drinking coffee. "You're staring." "Just remembering." "What?" "The day I met the prettiest grumpy lady in the world." She rolled her eyes. "You've become unbearably romantic." "And you became less grumpy." "Absolutely not." Daniel kissed her forehead.<...
