Aldus Cray runs a financial laundry through the Sulphur Springs Valley land market, has run it for six years, and used Cole Jarvis's stolen payroll certificates as just one of its revenue streams. Deetch isn't an investigator - he's a closer. He has closed cases this way before in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, and Silver City. The subjects of those investigations didn't survive to contest the findings. The Pinkerton Agency's home office in Chicago calls it a clean record.
