Patricio Guzmán writes, directs and narrates this Spanish documentary. The film-maker again explores Chile's violent past but this time also examines the country's waterways and its 2,600 mile-long coastline. The film tells the story of the country's most ancient inhabitants, The Water People, and features interviews with their descendants who discuss the reasons behind their demise. Meanwhile, Guzmán narrates the tale of another native who was taken from his home in Tierra del Fuego to England in 1830 in order to be made civilised. He also later narrates the tale of the country's 'disappeared' who dared to oppose President Salvador Allende.
