Partnerships are the latest attempt by the English sports community to address the perennial problem associated with the fragmented system for delivering sporting opportunities and providing links between schools, clubs and their NGBs, and local authorities. The interaction of the different organisations in sport lacked effective coordination and it was intended that the introduction of ''partnership working'' would combine the efforts of all providers under a single umbrella to establish a sustainable infrastructure for people to benefit from sport and physical activity. This book provides a snapshot of how such a partnership came into being, evolved and developed to provide those opportunities in a joined-up system and should be useful to both practitioners and academics reviewing the partnership process.
