Anouk Aimée and Gary Lockwood star in this romantic drama from film-maker Jacques Demy. George Matthews (Lockwood) is stuck in a rut, jobless and in an unhappy relationship. On the day that he receives his conscription orders, he sees a beautiful woman and develops immediate feelings towards her.
