A critical assessment of the significance of Turkish labour migration with regard to the demand for foreign labour in Europe is offered, with particular emphasis on the cases of Germany and the Netherlands. With an examination of the reasons for which the guest worker system as a whole was introduced into Western Europe, alongside a cross-comparative investigation of the employment Turkish migrants by economic sector, this volume adopts a multidisciplinary approach that will be of interest to researchers and policy makers alike in the field of migration.
