This recommendation, or rather threat, from chief commissioner José Castillejo, had all the officers of the Southern District police station pretending to do nothing but not getting involved in anything, when they were notified of a violent incident, resulting in death, which had occurred in a house near the police station.
With the rarefied atmosphere in the police station, no one wanted to take charge of the case. The "brown" fell to the last officer to arrive in the Southern District, sub-inspector Alonso.
