Guide to Psychological Assessment with African Americans comprehensively explores diversity, culture, and ethnicity as they relate to the psychological assessment of African Americans. Each chapter contains a general overview of cultural considerations that must be made when assessing the African American client as well as a specific exploration of the assessment measures available. An exploration of the strengths and limitations of each assessment measure is included. An exploration of the general psychological assessment domains (e.g., personality, intelligence) is provided with references to research on the major assessment measures used in the field. A more specific exploration of psycho-diagnostic assessment measures follows, including assessment of mood disorders, sexual dysfunction, psychosis, and so forth.
