From Islamists to Muslim Democrats? deals with thetransformation of Islamist movements in Egypt and Turkey againstthe background of thorough socio-economic and political change inboth societies. Promotinguniversal values as human rights, the freedom of speech anddemocracy, they have given hope for the democratisation of MiddleEastern societies. The question is; what kind of democracy?
