Anotace knihy

This book will appeal to sailors who are interested in learning about some of the most attractive and challenging sailing venues in the American West. It notes how to reach such venues while providing historical, geological, cultural, and meteorological information as well as maps and photographs on each of these destinations. Four areas are covered: Lake Powell, the Pacific Northwest and Canada, southern California, and Mexico. Each includes narratives on the author's cruising experience along with information that might be of interest and practical advice on visiting and sailing the area, specially tailored to trailer sailors. The middle chapter of each section describes how a storm or challenging event was managed and the tactics employed. The Appendix is comprised of four sections on trailer maintenance, driving techniques, small boat provisioning, and small boat safety.
