Graph theory has become important in science and engineering through its strong links with matrix algebra and computer science. Moreover, the structure of the mathematics is well suited to the structure of the engineering problem in structural analysis and design. In this book graph theoretical methods and meta-heuristic algorithms are detailed for structural analysis and finite element models. Efficient methods are presented leading to highly sparse and banded structural matrices.
