Pearl Harbor, Hawaii during the heady days of World War II engendered a mystique that Cora Tanabe, a Japanese-American girl exemplified. At a camp dance, she meets Richard Kline, G.I., from Wisconsin. Romance, marriage and a move to a small Wisconsin town. She has a daughter. Richard dies in a car accident.
