Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) affects a huge proportion of the population worldwide and it is more widely recognized as a significant health issue characterized by a wide spectrum of pathological symptoms followed by long-term disability. As of now, degeneration of axons, oxidative stress, oxidative stress mitochondrial malfunction, excitotoxicity and apoptotic cell death of neurons and glia are hallmark phenomena after delayed secondary CNS injury. Despite the fact that each TBI case is unique and that affected people show varying levels of damage, varying localised injury patterns, and profile of recovery differing.
