Anotace knihy

The concept of social support has been found to be aprotective factor in women's intimate partner violencevictimization. However, little is known about the relationshipbetween women's social support from family and friends and theirintimate partner violence perpetration. Research evidencedemonstrates that women's perpetration of violence is surprisinglyfrequent, particularly in women younger than age 30. This studyinvestigated the role of social support in heterosexual women's useand receipt of non-lethal aggression against an intimate partneramong 673 female college students. The implications of thesefindings for research and practice are discussed.
