Voltaire said that poetry is the "Music of the Soul." D. R. Lesyk has created an anthology of poems that are reflective, inspiring and spiritually uplifting in her book, The Poems of D. R. Lesyk. With her lifetime passion for poetry and her years of creative writing skills, Lesyk's poems reflect universal themes such as love, humor, grief, sadness and joy, and touch upon historical events. Lesyk has had an interest in writing poetry for over 30 years. She currently works for the Alberta government when not visiting her muse. Ms. Lesyk was born and raised in the vicinity of Elk Point, a town located in North East Alberta. She currently resides in Edmonton, Canada, and is anticipating on putting together another collection of poems.
