The eggs and the equations and the light through the kitchen window are the same thing they have always been - consciousness paying attention to what is here.

Marcus planes walnut at his workbench late at night. The shavings curl off the blade. The wood knows what it wants to be. The blade's job is not to decide. The blade's job is to listen.
