Anotace knihy

A wise pigeon has found a peaceful home in the kitchen of a wealthy household, where he lives with discipline and contentment. Then a clever crow arrives, pretending to seek friendship while secretly longing for the rich fish and meat prepared below. Welcomed into the safety of the kitchen, the crow soon discovers that opportunity can be far more dangerous than hunger.

When a tempting feast is left within reach, the crow ignores every warning and chooses appetite over wisdom. One reckless decision leads to discovery, punishment, and consequences that cannot be undone. Meanwhile, the pigeon must decide whether he can remain in a home spoiled by another creature's greed.

Framed by the Buddha's teaching at Jetavana, this memorable Jataka tale explores false friendship, ignored counsel, and the destruction caused by uncontrolled desire. It is a sharp, lively story filled with temptation, deception, humor, and danger, leading to a final revelation about who the pigeon and crow once were.
