A research about the Regime, which was §overthrown by the US-led coalition in 2003. The §investigation explains the reasons of the §Operation "Iraqi Freedom". Iraq was unable before §1972 to reach a larger development of its Oil- §industry. It tried permanently to destabilize the §successful oil producing countries of the region, §for instance, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The §influence of the Soviet Union grew in Iraq since the §early 1970 s. Saddam Hussein represented the policy §of the Warsaw Pact in his own country and in the §Middle East. The permanent conflicts with Iran and §Kuwait and the Blockade of the United Nations §hindered a further development of the Iraqi Oil §Industry. The Operation "Iraqi Freedom" in 2003 §stopped Iraq's last try to reach a larger oil-market
