The Bleeding Margin, Issue Three (Spring 2026)

Issue Three of The Bleeding Margin collects six short stories, three long-form author interviews, and nineteen works of contemporary art.

The fiction spans a good deal of ground. A vengeful ghost story set on and around an Indian railway platform, a creature feature that doubles as a breakup, Scottish folk horror on an island where the devil keeps his land burned to ash, serial-killer noir in the desert, a coming-of-age story in a community with a terrible ritual, and Faustian gambling horror. Each piece is followed by a Q&A with its author, the same five questions every time, which turns the set into something closer to a conversation between writers than a run of isolated interviews.

The long-form interviews are with novelist and poet Quan Barry, on The Unveiling and Antarctica as a landscape that shows you what is already inside you; author, lecturer, and editor Mo Moshaty, on where horror still refuses to look; and sisters Maika and Maritza Moulite, on co-writing, family trauma, and the difference between a Haitian zombie and the Western one. All three were conducted by editors John Mark King and Vivian Nosti.

Artwork throughout comes courtesy of the Mosquera Collection in Miami, with work by Ali Prosch, Naomi Fisher, Jacin Giordano, and Gavin Perry, placed against the prose it sharpens rather than dropped in as filler.
