Anotace knihy

This volume covers data describing the role in gingivitis and periodontal disease of free radicals and antioxidants (i.e. oxidative stress). Its goal is to keep the dentist and research scientist up-to-date on translational research into dental applications. Oxidative stress plays a regulatory role in transcription, signal transduction, gene expression and membrane trafficking. There has been a tremendous increase in the research in this area. The editors are internationally recognized scientists who have been instrumental in furthering our understanding of oxidative stress and antioxidant disease processes in periodontal diseases.
