The book critically and concisely reviews current basic science data on the bladder and prostate, as well as the way in which the function of both is altered in benign prostatic hyperplasia to cause bladder outflow obstruction. The text is in two parts: the first deals with the basic science aspects, and the second provides a review of the reasons for prostatectomy and the safety of this procedure.
