Anotace knihy
Background: The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) faces a dual health burden characterized by the persistence of communicable diseases, malnutrition, and maternal and child health issues, alongside the gradual emergence of noncommunicable diseases and their risk factors. In this context, a health care model primarily focused on curative care appears insufficient to address future health challenges. A transition toward a more predictive, preventive, and personalized approach to medicine could help reduce premature mortality and increase healthy life years. Objective: To propose a conceptual framework adapted to the context of the DRC that enables the transition from a primarily curative approach to a predictive and preventive approach centered on preserving health and healthspan. Methodology: This conceptual article proposes the PREVENT-DRC model, developed based on a narrative synthesis of contemporary concepts in prevention, predictive medicine, personalized medicine, digital health, and artificial intelligence.
