This is the humble story of Aniano (Arnie) T. Tumaliuan, born and raised in the Pacific Islands, in the Philippines, a former Commonwealth of the United States of America. He was one of five among three hundred applicants who succeeded in enlisting in the United States Navy as a teenager on 25 January 1963 in the Philippines.
