Anotace knihy

Claude Code is not autocomplete with a chat window bolted on. It is a new kind of engineering teammate that reads your repository, plans before it edits, delegates work to specialized subagents, and remembers your team's conventions across every session. Most guides to it read like a feature tour: here is a command, here is a flag, here is what a slash command does. This book is not that. It is a field guide to the engineering system you build around Claude Code so that a capable but occasionally reckless agent becomes a dependable, verifiable member of your engineering process. Mastering Claude Code builds a complete decision framework, primitive by primitive: CLAUDE.md as a living constitution rather than a stale config file, skills as reusable engineering playbooks, subagents as a delegation boundary with real context isolation and tool-permission narrowing, hooks as guardrails the agent cannot talk its way out of, and MCP as the wiring that connects Claude Code to the rest of your stack. It covers plan-mode discipline and why an agent that edits before proposing is dangerous, the tool and permission model that defines the trust boundary between what an agent can suggest and what it can actually do, and the verification loops that catch AI-shaped bugs before they ship. From there the book goes further than a features manual would: reading and refactoring unfamiliar and legacy codebases, debugging with an agent, code review and security passes, keeping documentation and tests from drifting out of sync, git worktrees and genuinely parallel agent sessions, headless automation through CI and scheduled agents, cost and model selection as a deliberate budget rather than an afterthought, the anti-patterns and failure modes that quietly erode trust in an AI-native workflow, and rolling the whole system out to a team with real governance behind it. What's inside: CLAUDE.md as a living constitution, not a stale config file; skills, subagents, and hooks as a delegation and enforcement layer; plan mode discipline and verification loops that catch AI-shaped bugs; MCP, git worktrees, and parallel agent sessions; debugging, refactoring, and code review with an agent; rolling Claude Code out to a team, with governance that scales. Every chapter works through real, worked examples across TypeScript, Python, and Go codebases rather than staying abstract, closing with a field-manual chapter of case studies and a recipe library you can start applying immediately. No hype, no magic: just a working system for turning Claude Code from a clever autocomplete into a disciplined, verifiable engineering practice, whether you work solo or roll it out across a team.
