Anotace knihy

Little Berry Deaton was a simple country preacher who found himself exiled in Illinois during the Civil War and unable to contact his family in Tennessee. He kept a diary of his experiences and tells us his feelings about what started that war and shares with us the letters he received from his son in the union army. Any history buff will be engrossed in the "you were there" way in which he describes the battles at Fort Henry and Fort Donelson.
