Anotace knihy

The purpose of the book is twofold: i) provide a comprehensive study of modeling and control of small unmanned rotorcraft (helicopters) addressing all technical challenges faced when dealing with such unstable, nonlinear and under actuated systems, and, ii) provide a detailed reference text that if followed step-by-step allows scientists, engineers, researchers and practitioners to model accurately and control (fly) small unmanned helicopters. A key component of the book will be information related to experimental observations, sensor issues and ways around problems not observed when one deals only with simulation studies. A second key component of the book is that all developments and controller designs will be first validated using the X-Plane Simulator (an FAA approved flight simulator), before experimental testing.
