La seconde partie se penche sur l'homo religiosus immergé dans la modernité. From prehistory to the cultures of the ancient Mediterranean basin, the author examines and analyses religious man and his experience of the sacred. Part Two examines homo religiosus in the modern world. The author investigates man's situation and his relation to the sacred within cultures and in society: the influences of institutions, crises and mutations in the sacred, the role of the religious founders and the permanence of the sacred throughout the millennia. In this way, the perspectives of a new fundamental religious anthropology are outlined.
