In the present monograph types of heterolingual oppositions "German vs. (American) English" at different levels of the system of the modern German literary language are analyzed. The phenomenon of the heterolingual variability is caused by an invasive borrowing English-Americanisms which constitute with autochthonous words of German various paradigmatic relations.
