First sensations are born out of darkness. They are promises dispersed into the framework of what we hold sacred. The Great Room 2003-2011 is a gathering of these first encounters, and the search to illuminate the psyche of the spirit using a small Montana town as the fixed point. This collection of poems, folktales and parables pass through the lens of the Yellowstone River waters, Crazy Mountain Range as well as the people living among alfalfa and wheat fields. "I want every word of mine to know there is no way back," Christopher reveals, and here marks his journey into the interwoven spirit and earth of a place. Christopher Keller is a poet, poetry group founder, teacher and ultra endurance athlete. His book, Twenty-Four Hours of Darkness, Twenty-Four Hours of Light was nominated for the 2010 Oregon Book of the Year Award. Christopher is the author of three poetry books; The Strongest Hand on the Loosest Rock, Blindfolding the Nearsightedness of the Body and Twenty-Four Hours of Darkness, Twenty-Four Hours of Light. Christopher resides in Portland, Oregon.
