This cross-disciplinary collection presents an integrated approach to critical diversity studies by bringing together original scholarly research on ideational, technical and actual social dimensions of contemporary governance through diversity. Providing both a clear analytical framework for diversity and an empirically rich set of studies that exemplify these three dimensions of diversity, it collects and extends strands of critical scholarship on diversity that previously had not been brought into the same theoretical space. It therefore represents a crucial step towards creating a new research agenda on how diversity dovetails integrationism in the shaping of contemporary governmental regimes of immigrant settlement, and for societal heterogeneity more broadly.
