Anotace knihy

Eddy currents are electric currents induced within conductors by a changing magnetic field in the conductor. These circulating eddies of current have inductance and thus induce magnetic fields. This title includes many closed form solutions, some new in 1, 2 and 3 dimensions as well as nonlinear problems. Finite difference, finite element and integral equation solutions for eddy currents are also discussed. Applications found in the book include induction machines, induction heating, transformer losses, stirring of liquid metals and others.
