Sustained increases in traffic congestion levels§motivate the need for the efficient utilization of§existing transportation infrastructure and resources.§Integrated advances in computing, telecommunications,§and informatics have enabled the development of§Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS) as a§mechanism to alleviate traffic congestion.
