Anotace knihy

Reading the Anglo-Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas's extra-sensorylines, is a deeply touching experience.§''Do Not Go Gentle IntoThat Good Night', 'Fern Hill' and 'The Force ThatThrough The Green Fuse' are his most famous poems written during troubled times of world history. Although, all of them deal with the theme of death, it is a challenge to reveal the poet's message and find the answers to the following main question. To what extent are these works influenced by Romantic or New Romantic tendencies? I have tried to investigate the most important characteristics referring to these while critically analysing the above-mentioned poems and his critics' opinion. I have alsoincluded a detailed eight-lesson project containing the poet's art. It is chiefly for teenagers learning English as a second or a foreign language and on a lower intermediate level. Considering that criticism on Thomas' works is not numerous, I hope that the book will be useful for students of English Studies or those studying in similar fields. I sincerely hope that readers taking aninterest in twentieth-century poetry will also find the topic exciting enough to go on thinking about it.
