This book presents an introduction to some of the cutting edge technological paradigms under the umbrella of computational intelligence. Computation intelligence schemes are investigated in this book with the development of a suitable framework for fuzzy, neural and evolutionary computing, Neuro-fuzzy systems, Evolutionary-fuzzy systems, Evolutionary neural systems and finally hybridization of three basic techniques followed by some advanced topics on adaptive systems, self-organizing systems, evolving systems and artificial life. Applications to linear and non-linear systems are discussed with examples and Matlab exercises.§While most of the book presents applications to systems modeling, control and optimization. There will also be an overview of other technologies of computational intelligence such as the immune system, swarm intelligence, and ant colony optimization. Some real world problems such as adaptive systems, self-organising systems, evolving systems, complex emergent behaviour and artificial life will be also be discussed.
