In a world torn apart by division and anxiety, there is greater need than ever for church unity, and for united action to help transform the world and its ways. "Called to the One Hope" challenges the churches to provide a common response to the insecurities and dangers that plague humanity in the opening decade of the 21st century. Samuel Kobia, general secretary of the World Council of Churches, has travelled widely and heard the cries of people affected by hatred, violence, starvation, economic injustice and environmental degradation.
