Wang s PhD research whichhas been well documented by the media. In the book,methanol conversion from sugar beet pulp with pectinmethyl esterase was studied. The goal is to createbioreactors that can be retrofitted onto existingsugar processing plants in such a way that the lowvalue beet pulp can be converted to valuablebioenergy in an economically feasible way. Theresearch results can also be used as a reference formethanol production from other pectin abundantagricultural byproducts such as pulps from fruitprocessing.
