Good Friday is a time of deep meditative reflection and sorrow for those who love Jesus Christ. And yet, it is also a time of anticipation towards Easter Sunday. The suffering endured by the Lord Jesus Christ on Good Friday is as much a part of Christianity as is the risen Christ. We live in a Good Friday world, but we are Easter Sunday people. As Christians, as Easter people, we are called to be a light to the world, the liberating voice of Christ. We are called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not yet know Him as Savior. Jesus promised that He would set those who trusted in Him free from their "graves" of sin and guilt. Since Christ has risen victoriously from death, believers live in anticipation that they too will appear with Him in glory.
