It was first published in 1916, originally for the use of the members of the 'North Munster Archaeological Society' on their visit to Limerick and its neighbourhood. The contents of this book include: "Introduction", "Limerick City", "Killaloe and Castleconnell", "Magh Adhair, Moghane, and Cahercalla", "Carrigogunnell, Askeaton, and Adare", "Kilmallock, Kilfinnan, and Monasteranenagh", etcetera. Thomas Johnson Westropp (1860 - 1922) was an Irish antiquarian, folklorist and archaeologist.
